----! Zoom in, Zoom out!!
We are nose to nose with a future where machines dominate the world. What looms above us extends its cold blue wires, anchoring itself to interfere with warm humankind. The gaze at a machine devoid of humanity is menacing, but humans keep looking upward with awe.
In the history of Chinese civilization, Four Great Beauties were known for their beauty giving them powerful influence. I made character designs for androids based on the beauties to represent their beautiful algorithms and the dawn of machine civilization. The first android and XiShi made fish drown from their beauty, so I incorporated colorful fish ponds within the android's design. The second android and ZhaoJun made birds fall from the sky, so the android's design was based on a falling pigeon (beak, eyes, and claws). The third and DiaoChan made the moon hide in embarrassment, so I included lunar patterns. The last one and Guifei put flowers to shame. I chose Blender to achieve an effect as if they were three-dimensional models of prototypes.
I reference Greek mythology to tell the legend of human accomplishments. After robots had taken over the Earth, all humans were banished to Tartarus's depths, remaining in claustrophobic darkness. Just as the hundred-handed giants helped Zeus conquer the Titans, the vast sea of people with each of their pairs of hands helped lift the heroine to challenge the artificial authority. Human will and collectivism have allowed humanity to conquer and develop so much. Let us do it again.
A short film I animated of a little robot and a star. The clumsy little robot navigates darkness but comes across beautiful stars. Its excitement leads it to knock a star down by accident. The star is annoyed but seeing the robot's enthusiasm leads them to be friends. I gained experience in animation and found a style while working on this piece, but I still have much to learn.
